FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)

FUE (follicular unit extraction) is the latest surgical method in cosmetic hair surgery. To solve the problem of balding, hair is removed from areas of the scalp where the follicles are resistant to balding, and grafted to areas where there is hair loss. The follicles retain their non-balding properties, and continue to produce hair in their new location. Older surgical methods involved strip surgery where several follicles are removed and grafted at once. Follicular unit extraction removes and grafts one follicle at a time, with its hair content. This method gives a much more natural look to the grafted hair, eliminating the need for stitches and reducing scarring.
