Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is one of the hair replacement treatment options available to men and women who suffer from hair loss due to pattern balding, thinning, or other causes. This method does not leave a scar or other obvious signs of the transplantation. Follicular Unit Extraction involves removal of entire follicles (hair included) from another part of the patient's body, such as the back of the head, neck, back or chest. The follicle is then transplanted onto the balding area, creating a very natural looking hairline. The successfully transplanted hair falls out within a few weeks, with new hair regrowing in its place and developing an ongoing, renewing life cycle as in other healthy hair follicles.
