Hair Loss Pattern Treatments

Hair loss patterns in both men and women are referred to as androgenetic alopecia, but each gender is affected differently. In women, hair usually becomes thinner over the entire head yet the hairline does not recede. In addition, females rarely experience complete baldness.
Male pattern baldness is slightly more complex. Hair is usually lost in a defined pattern beginning with recession above the temples and followed by thinning of hair at the crown. When the two areas merge together, partial or total baldness occurs. A less common pattern of male baldness works its way from the front of the scalp toward the back.
There are different treatment options available for all types of hair loss patterns. Corrective solutions include micrografting, follicular extraction, surgical implantation, and medications to restore hair loss.
