Hair Transplant Treatments

A hair transplant is the procedure in which balding patches of the scalp are covered with remaining hairs from other areas on the head. The hairs of the lower back of the scalp are genetically resistant to balding. In a hair transplant, hair is removed from this area in its follicular unit, and grafted onto a balding part of the head. This is repeated hundreds or even thousands of times, until the balding area of the scalp is satisfactorily covered. The grafted hair may fall out initially, but is quickly replaced with new hair growth from the transplanted follicules. These follicule will go on to produce hair throughout life in their new location.
