Hair Transplantations

Hair transplantation is a cosmetic procedure, where balding parts of the scalp are covered with hairs from areas where hair growth still remains.

In this procedure, hair follicles are removed together with the hairs they contain, and grafted onto a bald section of the scalp. Many hundreds or thousands of grafts are made until the bald areas are sufficiently covered. Because follicles in parts of the head of genetically resistant to balding, they will continue to produce hair even in their new location. The hairs themselves may fall out in the days following the grafts due to trauma, but these will quickly be replaced with new hair that the follicles produce.
