Hair Transplanting

Hair transplanting is a form of treatment for balding. Hairs are trasplanted from parts of the scalp where hair growth still remains, to the bald area of the scalp. The hairs are removed in the follicule from with they grow, together with the other hairs in the same follicule - between one and four hairs. The follicule is then grafted onto its new location. This is done repeatedly done until the bald area is satisfactorily covered. Because follicules from certain parts of the scalp are genetically resistant to balding, they will continue to grow hairs even in their new location. Although the hairs may initially fall out following the grafts, they will quickly be replaced by new hairs grown by the transplanted follicules. The surgery can be done under sedation, and patients are discharged the same day.
